Breadcrumbs From a Black Woman Business Owner in South Seattle There are those days when a city feels like it's whispering something to you. You don't always know what it is. You just know you should pay attention. That was the kind of day I was having in work mode, Seattle. I was sitting in one of my usual places, searching through Instagram, doing what I sometimes do when I'm looking for a little inspiration from the city's food, hospitality, travel, and creative community.

Breadcrumbs from South Seattle Today reminded me that community has a way of teaching us exactly what we need to learn. This afternoon, I attended a youth fundraiser in the heart of South Seattle. I went intentionally to reconnect with a community that has invested in the next generation. I wanted to observe how young people naturally reconnect with the mentors who have helped shape their lives and how those relationships continue to provide a sense of belonging as they grow

Friday, July 31, 2026 a reminder for me and why I continue to say yes to rooms that challenge, encourage, and connect women from every profession globally. The conversations weren't just about money or business, they were about confidence, opportunity, community, and the freedom that comes from women choosing to lift one another
